The most visited Serbian mountain Zlatibor, besides its beauty and health benefits, also attracts visitors with its traditional gourmet specialties. The village of Mackat is situated on the northeastern slopes of Zlatibor, about halfway between the center of this mountain and Užice. The inhabitants of Mackat knew how to make use of all that nature had donated to their village, and by preserving the tradition, they launched a large number of meat processing plants in which the famous Zlatibor beef and pork prosciutto, bacon, various types of sausages are made.
Miloš Zarić successfully inherits family tradition and together with his family, extends production and improves Max Zara’s business. The Max Zara pruning center is located in the Kačer hamlet in Mačkat. In the tasting center, decorated in a pleasant mountain style, you can taste and buy ham, sausage, bacon and other products specific for Zlatibor and its villages.
